Customer Reviews
Witty, candid and eloquent - without the Hollywood schmaltz!
Ms MacLaine's latest autobiography is informative, entertaining, witty and revealing- without being overly self-indulgent. MacLaine's own brand of self-mockery and mirth fills each and every page winning the reader over immediately. You may not be a fan yet - but you will be.
witty intelligent read
Shirley Maclaine is one of the living legends of cinema, having worked with many of the screen greats who only survive on film. She is also a great, witty, intelligent and interesting writer. Over the years I had read her memoirs and some of her spiritual writing, The Camino is a fabulous read. But this is a great read. She tells of her life in hollywood and some of the great stars, directors and choreographers she has worked with. It's a fascinating insight into a movie legends life and also how hollywood operated in the fifties. She gives us insight into her personal relationships and it is fascinating to read about her relationship with her husband and more so Bob Mitchum.
