Riveting
This book is seriously amazing, amazing that it ever got published. The author has literally written about five pages of somewhat dubious information, and then just padded out the book with blank pages for 'notes' and example correspondence. One of the gems in this is a sample facsimile cover sheet which reminds you that you should include a date, title, comments section and name on any faxes you send. The author also seems to assume that anyone who reads this has an IQ of 10, as she helpfully points out that your should never ask a potential candidate if they have AIDS or epilepsy, or ask if they have ever had 'an addiction to drugs'. I read this book from cover to cover in about 30 minutes, before filing it in my special cylindrical 'filing cabinet' under my desk.
Worthy of a dentist's waiting room table!
This book is terrible. Not only is the information incomplete but the book is padded out with blank pages where you can write your thoughts down! I'd rather pay 99p for a notepad where I can do that rather than half of my £10 book made available for a few scribblings. The material that is there, reads like it is a rough first draft to outline what will be included when the book is written properly.
Even at this low price - don't waste your money!
Wretched. A far better choice..
When all parties agree that a book is terrible, there is probably a good reason for that opinion. I own this book (a gift, possibly from an enemy!)and I agree with the previous reviewers.
Those wishing to learn (or improve skills in) this field should know that a genuinely good and comprehensive 300+ page hardbound book from genuinely qualified authorities is the well-named "Search and Placement! A Handbook for Success" by Larry Nobles and Steven Finkel. Acclaimed industry trainer Steven Finkel has been in the UK many times, and his brilliant material is totally appropriate to our market. If this well-written and up-to-date book is any guide, the same may be said of Mr Nobles.
See AmazonUS (bottom of this page) for a link to find the book. This is a public service announcement only. I do not own stock in their firm. :-)
