Customer Reviews
A brilliant collection of Addams dark humour
Charles Addams is best known as the creater of the Addams Family. His involvenemt with the TV series was minimal, the films even less so. So it is nice to see the original insperation reprinted. Addams published 13 volumes of collected work this compelation includes the best from those works.
If you've ever read a Gary Larson cartoon and raised a smile then be prepared to find him wan and gutless in what he does Addams is the master of dark humour and takes risks and challenges the audiance in a way modern cartoons are too sanatised to attempt.
If you've never read Addams before then read this, if your a fan of the Addams Family TV Show or Films read this or you just want to be horrified and amused at the same time then you couldn't do better
brilliant black humour!
This is lovely book to dip into - for the cynical - very funny, but only for those with a dark sense of black humour! It has an early intro to the "addams family" - moricia and gomez et al - plus much more! enjoy!!! i give it 6 of five!!
A beautifully dark, funny world
This collection of cartoons-which includes several of the original Addams family, in all its ghoulish glory-is perfect reading for the evening, or just before going to sleep. I'll never forget the one in which Gomez's predecessor (unnamed in the cartoons) gazes out the window at a violent storm and exclaims, "Just the kind of day that makes you feel good to be alive!"
