Impecable illustrations
To me this was the first Mary Cicely Barker's pop-up book and it prooved a very nice surprise to be. Lovely book, carefully put together. The lights are a lovely addition. Absolutely charming.
Shame about the light sensitivity of the night-lights
This is a lovely book with the original illustrations and a sweet story. It is a shame that the night-lights are light sensitive as initially I thought they didn't work as the light in my kitchen wasn't bright enough. It would make more sense for the lights to come on in the dark, it would have a more magical effect. The book did however inspire my 5 year old's imagination to draw a picture which included fireflies!
