.Explore in detail microcontroller interfacing techniques using the popular PIC 16F877
.Work through step-by-step examples interactively using circuit simulation software, supplied as assembly source code
.Gain the knowledge of a wide range of peripheral devices such as keyboards, displays, sensors and drives and serial communication with other processors, memory and more
.Use interactive simulation software to design and test circuits
Interfacing PIC Microcontrollers provides a thorough introduction to interfacing techniques for students, hobbyists and engineers looking to take their knowledge of PIC application development to the next level. Each chapter ends with suggestions for further applications, based on the examples given, and numerous line drawings illustrate application of the hardware.
Step-by-step examples in assembly language are used to illustrate a comprehensive set of interfaces, and these can be run interactively on circuit simulation software, used to aid understanding without the need to build real hardware.

PIC must have
A must have book for all those getting to grips with pic micros. Everything is well explained with plenty of easy to understand diagrams. The specifics on interfacing of pics with sensors and communication are excellent. Projects and examples are based on the well featured 40 pin P16F877 and there are answers to the assessments at the end of each chapter. This book is so well written that even pic virgins could make sense of it! Buy it!
Very useful for completely beginners, and a good book for reference
This book is a steal for the price. Skeptical at first (because there weren't any reviews out there), I bought it after having it recommended to me by my lecturer. This was one of the best programming books I've read. It helped me though the Micro's course in my degree. Before reading the book I had a reasonable (GCSE & AS Electronics) electronics knowledge, but I had no experience with PICs. This book goes from teaching how to put a PIC into a circuit, right through to learning to program it in Assembly and C and with some complex examples towards the end (explained well). The advice in it is informative and practical, and I keep this on my bookshelf for reference. The examples and snippets are very handy, even now I am familiar with general assembly programming, I use it regularly. Well structured, well written, money well spent.
