About the Author
Colin and Jacqui - a husband and wife team - are top children's writers and illustrators in the UK. Colin Hawkins was educated at art school in the north of England and then worked as an illustrator/designer for the Daily Express before working on magazines and in advertising. Jacqui Hawkins was trained as a graphic designer at Goldsmiths College. In 1979 the two had the idea to begin illustrating children's books together. Since then, Colin and Jacqui have created some of the most exciting books for children available today.

Highly recommended
I read this to my little boy (four years old) the other night and he's been merrily repeating the rhymes ever since. It seems like a great way to introduce the basics of reading to pre-school kids.

Great fun
Both my children have greatly enjoyed all of the books in this series (Pat the Cat, Jen the Hen). They combine good stories, catchy rhymes (which all children enjoy) and a great introduction to reading. The children learn a lot without finding it a chore.

Heartily recommend.
