Product Description

From America's most celebrated true-crime writer comes the heartbreaking real-life drama of a doomed young woman hopelessly trapped in a web of sexual intrigue, political manipulation and emotional deception by her charming and successful - but ultimately deadly - lover. In the most complex and shocking book of her long career, Ann Rule delves into the motivation that drove a seemingly successful man to kill, and she explores hitherto unknown aspects of a fatal affair between a beautiful young woman who moved confidently in the heady world of the upper echelons of government and a widely admired millionaire attorney who was an immensely popular political figure. Ann Rule brilliantly traces the lives of both Ann Marie Fahey and Tommy Capano as she discloses the intimate details of their ill-fated bonding. A vulnerable, trusting woman becomes spellbound by a charming, duplicitous married man, and what begins as a seemingly unremarkable affair is slowly transformed into an obsessive, convoluted and deadly relationship.

ANOTHER 5 STAR BOOK FROM MS RULE5
Ann Rule yet again lives up to her reputation as America's most celebrated true-crime writer with this absorbing story about Thomas Capano and Anne Marie Fahey.
Peeling away all the layers bit by bit you come to realise that Tom led a double life for years, and unfortunately for Anne Marie she became snared in his web of lies and deceit. By the time she realised exactly the type of control freak he was and tried to break away from him, it was all to late.
Your heart goes out to Anne Marie's family for never quite knowing the full story of her disappearance and death until Tom was brought to justice and trial, but you also come to admire them for their faith, belief and above all their strength and dignity in what must surely have been a despairing situation.

This is a terrifically written account of a chilling insight into the evil that sometimes hides behind even the most charming facade.

1st Ann Rule book I ever read5
It was only by accident that I came across Ann Rule. I was shopping at Amazon looking for my next read. Although I have never heard of Ann Rule (coming from the UK, I don't think her books are well-known) I decided to buy this book after reading the great reviews.

I have to say - this book is absolutely brilliant. I read it in just over a week having taken it everywhere with me. When there were adverts on the TV - I would read a few pages. When I needed to visit the ladies room - I took it with me. When I was quiet at work - I started reading the book. I could not put it down.

Ann has this great ability of writing true crime books as if it were a story and you immediately get engrossed. Every detail, no matter how small, is described in her books and you end up knowing everything about everyone involved in the case even the little lady that lives down the road.

Since reading this book, I have read a further 3 Anne Rule books and plan to work my way through the whole of them.

You have to buy this book.
