A scandalously good look at life lived in the lap of Luxury
Sexy, smart New Yorker Logan Barnes knew how to take what he wanted to get where he wanted to be. But you can’t win the girl, make the money and live the high life without picking up enemies along the way...
There’s only one enemy who matters, and that’s the friend Logan betrayed years ago – Nicolo Flores. He got mad, but better still he got even, waiting in the wings to pull the plug on Logan and see his fortunes come crashing down.
Now Logan’s back, in London with a perfect wife, perfect family, and the perfect jewel to crown his rebuilt hotel empire: a stunning island getaway for the truly über-rich. Nicolo’s crazy to find a way to crush him again – but with gambling, addiction, sex and scandal all knocking on the Barnes’ family door, maybe they’ll destroy themselves before he even has a chance to...

Hilariously Lavish and Over the Top
The title is correct for this book - all the appurtenances of luxuriousness for gorging on in the privacy of your individual, lace-trimmed, beach cabana with hot and cold running sun-glasses polishers. I loved all the descriptions of absurd comforts, the beach with under-sand cooling was a favourite - and wonderful parties, clothes, delicious food and drink - I did worry about the figures of the heroines when exposed to so much temptation. But in fiction you can enjoy both an appetite and a perfect figure. Having been to Necker Island and slept in Mr Branson's bed (alone I hasten to add) I have to mention that Necker is not a PATCH on Luxury - perhaps someone will be inspired to bring Ms Ruston in to advise on true luxury when they next invest in a desert island. A rollicking read which reminded me of early Jackie C in that the characters were all despicable, but enjoyably so.
Exciting, compelling read
It seems an age since I read something so unashamedly, errr, luxurious? And exciting. And BIG. Big characters, big glamour, big stories that sweep decades, with loads of revenge and sex. It reminds me of yonks back when I used to read Penny Vincenzi, Jackie Collins, Jilly Cooper et al, before they made way for all the insipid single girl chick-lit with pastel covers. It's like watching Dynasty after the Eastenders omnibus.
Intelligently written and utterly compelling - perfect holiday read, or something to devour whilst curled up in an armchair on a wet weekend.
Luxury indeed....
What a treat. My only regret was that I wasn't snuggled down in silk sheets on Necker Island as I read this... It's a great page turner, full of wonderful details and I greedily read it all in one hit. Loved it. Pure decadent pleasure. Enjoy....
