Product Description

This native of East Germany found life became very different when the wall came down. Suddenly there were a thousand new influences on the young artist and promotional artist Renato Casaro in particular would profoundly change his work. With Casaro he learned the use of atmosphere and expression to build mood and character. His goal is to visually create the beauty of the female form and the power of a sensual moment. This book shows he made it.

How does he do it?5
Michael Möbius has this incredible ability to draw absolutely stunningly beautiful women. If you are a fan of beautiful women in art, or are learning to draw, I highly recommend this collection. The book also includes a fold out section with a large pinup style image. The images are perfectly represented in this publication, with crisp edges and vibrant colours, escaping the fate of books like the work of Dorian Cleavanger (which was blurry and distorted on most images).

...I kind of agree with Mr Berriman. As a fan of girlies in art, I can't fault the guy.
But there were one or two things: the centrefold type illustration - why repeat the same image several times - different sizes, I grant you (actually, the smaller versions looked better than the blow-up. Er. Large version, I mean). And it wasn't the best of the bunch to use as a main example of what the guy can do.
And one or two of the images stopped just short of wonky illustrations in something like "Wet and Wild" (or something. I don't actually buy 'em. Honest). Full on raunch. Now, I'm no prude - you should see my Wish List - but as a fan of fantasy art, it really wasn't. Well, not fantasy as in the Sword 'n' Sorcery genre. Somebody's fantasy, though, for sure.
All I'm saying is, it's a book full of great pics but I didn't feel inspired - which is the main reason I tend to buy a book like this. I've almost got to want to put the book down and reach for my own sketch pad. This one didn't do that for me, but nevertheless it was a treat. Which is why it gets four stars. So there.
Frothy.
