A Foothold in aviculture
I purchased this book prior to aquiring my first Zebra Finches with the aim of increasing my knowledge of the species. I found that the book more than met my standards and provided a wealth of information which I have been able to turn to for advice. It contains a plethora of photographs of all the mainstream Zebra Finch mutations and gives both the novice and the more accomplished breeder a target to strive to by publishing the written standards. Their is also a large section on possible threats to your Zebras health which is missing in many comparable books. My only critiscm would be over the brief chapter on breeding which fails to highlight fully the neeeds of breeding Zebra Finches. However this is only a minor blip and fails to deter from the promise shown by this guide which incidentally I fel represents great value for money. The hardback is also pratical in a birdroom where spillages are likely. I hope you draw as much from this book as I have and that it will too lead you onward with Zebra Finches.
