Customer Reviews
A well researched work on masonry and argments pro and con.
This small treatise condenses a great deal of research. The author who was not a mason, but open minded, began his research in an up raising in England in the 1300s. He then found himself researching the possible origins of Masonry. Finally, in this book he ended up in a modern conflict. His first book, "Born in Blood" may be a proper introduction for this book because it gives the background for some of his conclusions. Regardless, this is a well reasoned argument which is even handed and fair to all sides. I recommend purchasing this book if you are wishing to know more about Masonry and its relationship with Christian religion. Many religious men will appreciate the wealth of information within the pages of such a small easy to read book. From the perspective of a conservative Fundamentalist Christian I found it a must read.
a realistic review
I write as a mason wanting to know how to deal with the crass attacks on the craft. I found the book enjoyable to read and if anything a bit harsh on the "religous right" in USA. Anyone who claims a monopoly of wisdom in this day and age is heading for a fall, so perhaps his attacks have some justification.
I also write as a confirmed Anglican whose life has been enriched through freemasonry. I feel even closer to God, the more I delve into the craft - so much so that I have joined other orders.
I personally have no truck with religous intolerance.
This book is well written and should be read by people who are open minded. I was so impresed that I have bought its predecessor.
Two Thumbs Up!
One of the excellent book I ever read about freemason, for those anti-mason or non-mason who are interested to know more about freemason, this is the book for you. This book is the best answer to the enemies of Freemason.
