Very comprehensive book, excellent historic sections
As a new meteorite collector found this book an excellent read, giving both technical and historic aspects of meteorite collecting. Could benifit from a new edition bringing it up to date with numerous recent finds and lunar/martian meteorites.
very well written and a must have for all collectors
I have the first and now this second edition of this book. It is my first choice when I want a more indepth description of specimens. If you buy only one book on meteorites, it must be this one. Lots of photos too!!!
comprehensive, well written and full of facts on all aspects
I've read this book from cover to cover and have gleaned an enormous amount of information on meteors. It covers all subjects from composition of various types of meteors to classifications to what to actually look for if you are hunting for them yourself.
