Enjoyable remix of Alan Nourse's book
This book is William Burroughs' version of Alan Nourse's original sf text 'Blade Runner'. This title is the one which gave Ridley Scott's film its name, but they gave the credit to Burroughs.
In any case, this book takes the plot, characters and settings from Nourse's book, but is rewritten to fit into Burroughs' cosmos of addiction, control, manipulation and paranoia. Presumably, it has also been subjected to the infamous cut-up method which Burroughs so often employed, literally cutting up the pages and putting them together randomly. Some revision has been performed, so that the results are intelligeble.
In the end, we are left with a short, enjoyable text which is easily read, not something which can be said for mot of Burroughs' texts. On the other hand, unless you already know of Burroughs' style, this may easily come off as the ramblings of a mad man, and this is meant in the most positive sense.
