Product Description
On our journeys in life, we experience challenges and/or situations that may result in hurt, pain, disappointment, grief and separation, leaving many of us emotionally battered, bruised and wounded. Often we have little time to deal with this as there are goals, tasks and busy schedules that must be kept up with. Hence, many of us bury our heads in the sand, trying our best to get on with life. To hide our issues, we wear a mask. Therefore, Overcoming Emotional Baggage is the perfect book for women who are suffering in such a way and is a valuable resource for individual use as well as in a small group setting. The book will help women accomplish the following: 1) Become consistently aware of themselves, their emotional state and its impact, 2) Live a more abundant and balanced life, 3) Tackle self-defeating, unhealthy and/or self destructive attitudes, beliefs and behaviours, 4) Get rid of inner turmoil and conflict. Whilst there are no quick fixes, women will also be able to eliminate their feelings of being 'stuck' so they can progress with their lives and get themselves into a position to maximise their God-given potential. A superb book that will benefit any woman suffering such trials.

Editorial Reviews
Review
Overcoming Emotional Baggage is an excellent book written by a woman for women. It is written in an explicit and lucid language and gives a clear picture of the struggles, challenges and uncertainties many women face as they journey through life carrying their baggage. Gladys gives positive examples of how to shift and finally get rid of the baggage in order that life can be lived in an abundant, healthy way. The Journaling Moments which she introduces at intervals throughout the book offers women the opportunity to reflect on chapters and consolidate what has been read whilst at the same time giving expression to their own inner feelings. Gladys recognises the pertinent issues which affects women at all levels of society and encourages them to give themselves permission to get off the treadmill even for a short while and to enjoy life. She is also interested in women building up themselves as whole persons, and this include, as she emphasizes in her book, the building of a close and personal relationship with God. She understands that the process of healing and wholeness from emotional hurts is a continuous process as women allow God to chip away the mechanism and influences which sometimes tries to prevent them from reaching their goal. If you have faced any disappointments in life whether as a young single woman, married woman or even married yet single again woman, you will receive strength and support from reading this book. This book is also a useful reference for those involved in ministering to and mentoring women. --Millicent Brown - Director of Women s Ministries.
