Authoritative and detailed book
THE world's leading authority on the Canaan Dog, Myrna Shiboleth, has produced this excellent book on the history and development of the breed, containing many photographs of Canaan Dogs from the past and from all over the world (sadly in black & white) it is a must for anyone interested in the Canaan Dog. Myrna worked with the founder of the breed (Prof. Menzel),has bred and shown many many champion Canaan Dogs, is a well respected judge and a professional animal behaviorist she is therefore uniquely qualified to write this authoritative book about the breed.

Excellent reference book for basic info on the Canaan Dog
Myrna Shiboleth is the primary breeder of Canaan Dogs in Israel. In "The Israel Canaan Dog", Mrs Shiboleth shares the knowledge which she has acquired about the Canaan Dog while working with the breed's "founder", Prof. Rudolphina Menzel, with the breeding co-op, Shaar Hagai, and finally as a sole breeder with the Shaar Hagai affix.

This book contains basic information about the breed's history and character and contains the breed standards for most countries in which the Canaan Dog is recognised. It also explains the process by which "wild" Canaan Dogs are introduced into the genepool. The book has a number of photos of both deceased and living Canaans from Israel and around the world. It is only unfortunate that they are in black and white rather than in colour.

As there is a dearth of written information on this wonderful and unique breed, this book is a must for the library of anyone who owns a Canaan Dog or is thinking of acquiring one.
