How to choose, set up, and enjoy the latest high-technology audio systems are all given expert insight in this indispensable guide for stereo shoppers. Consumers today often use home-audio systems for both stereo music and surround-sound music, they buy multi-channel systems instead of two-channel stereo systems, they may have HDTV and flat-panel televisions, and they have largely moved to in-wall and on-wall loudspeakers rather than floor standing units. Questions relating to all of these changes are covered in a novice-friendly way, as well as Super Audio CD, DVD-Audio formats, and all of the latest surround-sound formats for home theatre. The emphasis is not only on solving shopping dilemmas, but also on getting great sound from an audio system.

Not a good book, full of useless and incorrect information. Based on purchasing equipment on subjectivity rather than functionality or quality. This book should be called "how not to buy high- performance Audio". the author evidently learnt his expertise in a high fi shop and as a consequence has all the BS of a salesman...as if you would spend thoasands of doshes on a pair of speakers, only to get them home and find that they are too "bright", then go back to the shop you bought them from and as for a $500 cable to correct it. this is laughable. Not even any nice pics.
