Aviary Construction Insight
For the individual venturing into the world of aviary construction, then this is the book for you. I purchased the book as an experienced aviary builder with a good knowledge base of woodworking and I still learnt something. I found the illustrations descriptive and exact, although a few colour illustrations would have been nice. The plans for the additional nest boxes etc were also very good. If your looking for an introduction to this wonderful topic, then this book is a must. Great value for money.
Disappointing
This is a "so near and yet so far" book, let down by the mediocre quality of its drawings, by its lack of photographs and by the fact that there are no metric measurements given at all. This is not a bad book as such, it's just disappointing and rather overpriced.
Should be called!
THIS BOOK SHOULD BE CALLED HOW TO BUILD AN AVIARY AND NESTBOX. IF YOU WANT TO BUILD AN AVIARY OR A NEST BOX THIS MAY BE THE BOOK FOR YOU - SO LONG AS YOU DON'T REQUIRE A PICTURE OF THE FINISHED ARTICLE. HOWEVER, IF YOU WANT TO BUILD A CAGE OR BREEDER'S CAGE OR ANY OTHER ITEM FOR YOUR BIRD - FORGET IT. THIS BOOK ONLY COVERS AVIARIES AND NEST BOXES. THIS BOOK IS GREAT FOR THE DIY MINDED BUT THEN YOU PROBABLY DONT NEED IT. FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR MORE BASIC BREEDER CAGE OR OTHER ITEM INSTRUCTION OR INSPIRATION LOOK ELSEWHERE. YOU WON'T FIND IT HERE. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
