Customer Reviews
love or hate his work, he is logical in his approch
This book works because not only is it logical in its approch, but it systematically covers all the bases. From understanding what you 'want' from your garden, then step by step bringing it to life on the page, a great starters book. As a landscaper myself I particually found the chapters on line and shape, and balance and proportion the most helpful, this is the one aspect that can make or break a garden, its worth getting it right on paper first. Love or hate Diarmuid, his design principles are sound, and in my opinion he's taking garden design and construction to the next level.
Unusual for Diarmuid
This is a book that this book actually show you ideas for your garden and is not just full of over the top flambuoyant unpractical designs as he has become known for, well worth the price, nice to see him designing for the normal persons garden
nice book
This is a good book with some nice ideas. The construction of the book is nice and good glossy pages. Nice to have lying around the house when visitors would just indulge them in pure inspiration. Its worth getting the other books by Diarmuid Gavin.
