not your usual shoujo manga
This is definitely not your usual shojo manga.
The heroine is not your standard heroine. After getting used and dumped by Sho Fuwa, a guy that effectively ruined her life, instead of crying and running back home Kyoko Mogami vows to get revenge. How? - by breaking into the world of show biz and becoming a bigger star than him! This manga chronincles her path to fame and maturity, and all the difficulties she must face along the way.
This is a beautifully drawn manga filled with bishounen and style! It is incredibly funny, and has a similar feel to "The Wallflower", due to the similarities between the personalities of the two heroines. It is a touching story in which a girl finds herself and makes her own way in life based on her own strength of character and morals.
This volume introduces us to the main characters and gives us some glimpses at their backgrounds. Kyoko's first challenge in defeating Sho is to join a talent agency called LME (the second biggest after Sho's), unfortunately not everything goes quite to plan...
Fantastic!
No matter how many times i've re-read Skip Beat's volumes, i still laugh my head off. Yes, even on public transport. THAT'S HOW BRILLIANT IT IS!
The art is so expressive and beautiful, and you grow to love the characters SO much. It's such a fun manga, but at the same time you just want more and more becaues the plot is so addictive.
I may be bias to Nakamura-sensei's work, since Tokyo Crazy Paradise is one of my favourite mangas of all time, but that's not it at all. This manga is so different to TCP and yet i love it just as much.
a pearl in a manga collection
Hilarious, the drawing is beautiful and expressive when it needs to be so.The story line is addictive.I just can't wait to have all the volumes in my hands. The story begins with the main heroine who is a kind and sweet girl. She is working hard to support her true love with who she grew up together and who now is about to become a big star. But of course she has her demons as well the only thing is that they are locked away and the only one who has the power to free them is her true love Sho Fuwa who isn't late to do so.Betrayal is a thing that needs revenge, but the target is out of reach for her,a person who has nothing to do with the show industry and the only way left to get him is to follow his on sarcastic advice "If you want your so-called "revenge" join the business although is just a waste of time for you".But she is not the kind to give up and cry.Her guts, determination and the flame of revenge in her heart are about to open the door of showbiss for her,but not everything is that simple.
I think this title is a pearl in a manga collection,it never gets boring and you can reread it as many times as you wish and still be fascinated by the story and the main heroine.
