I am not sure why 3-D applique created with fusibles is traditional. Perhaps the reference is to the background blocks in the 11 quilts. These serve to set off the 11 flowers which could easily be combined in different ways or on other backgrounds. The flowers are lovely and utilize detailed petals, beaded stamens and other realistic touches. They include dandelion, magnolia, water lily, coneflower and Christmas cactus. The instructions appear complete and well illustrated. -Quilters Review

Quick and easy, realistic results achieved with this book
This book has changed the way I look at flowers. I can now duplicate them easily using this technique, while at the same time maintaining the realistic look. It was great fun. Joan Shay is an artist.
