Go on, have a go!
Jerry Yarnell is a TV painter in the US rather in the style of Bob Ross, but uses acrylics rather than oils. The best part about the book is that there are dozens of pictures showing you at every stage how the paintings were produced and the results are quite stunning. The colours are fairly bright and American in style and there are lots of over-bright sunsets, but it does encourage you to have a go. I did, and it was not as easy as it looked, but I would still recommend the book.
