This first story in a thriller-series by Galenorn is definitely a hit. She has a very fluent way of writing, making the book a true page-turner. I simply loved the way how she described the life of Emerald and her adorable children. The detective-story in itself could have been more complicated but this does not diminish the book in itself. The ghost-story was there and at times it really gave me the creaps. I'm looking forward to read the next book.

One of the other reviewers has said that they wondered if this were the first book in the series because there seemed to be a lot of gaps in the knowledge that the author assumed you knew, and at first glance, i agreed with this. I too checked that i had bought the first one in the series. However, if you keep reading, it becomes clear why this is the case and all of the information is there to be found. Its a interesting writing style that was fun and different, a little mystery to solve in a mystery book.
I found the characters engaging and it kept me guessing.
I havent given it 5 stars because there were a couple of little bits of lore that i felt were missing, but thats just a personal thing. Also, this isnt a book that will change your life, its just a good murder mystery with a twist.
I'd recommend it, because i really enjoyed it. You might too.

Fantastic series - you will need to buy them all!5
I took this book on holiday with me and i really enjoyed it, i hardly put it down. Most of the book was a cozy paranormal mystery but there are some slightly scarier moments towards the end of the book which made me jump a little. I especially loved the descriptions of the different teas, i had to buy some beautiful china on my holiday and some specialist tea to enjoy while reading!
