Good Starter
The authors of this book need no introduction to the cacti fraternity, and what they have tried to do with this book is cater more for the beginner than the seasoned hobbyist. Having said that there is lots of useful information in there for everybody, even the so called "experts." The text is well written and the photographs are good. Everything is there to help you keep your plants in top condition. My one pet hobby horse is why do many authors think that people who are interested in cacti are also interested in other succulents and vice versa. I know that they are trying to get two books into one, but sometimes one subject is to the detriment of the other. Still a worthwhile book.
