About the Author
Max Velthuijs was born in The Hague in 1923, and died in 2005, aged 81. He is now considered to be one of Holland's most important creators of children's books, alongside Dick Bruna. He won many awards, including the highly prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 2004.

Frog stories should be shared with all children and adults
I was introduced to Frog and his friends 14 years ago whilst working in an city school in Nottingham, I will be forever grateful, Frog stories are fantastic for teaching and learning about anti-discriminatory practice in a form accessible to all ages. I have just bought Frog in Love and Frog and the Stranger for our lastest Teaching Student as a leaving present. We should spread the word wherever possible.
