Charlie Waite is widely-regarded as the doyen of English landscape photographers. His style combines graphic finesse with an almost spiritual quality of calm and serenity. This book is a first-hand account of his travels with a camera; it contains a personal selection of his 50 favourite images together with invaluable advice on how to capture the unique beauty of diverse landscapes and all the technical details for each shot. From the splendour of Lake Titicaca in Bolivia, to the ghost town of Kolmaskop in Namibia, from the golden autumn of the Champagne region in France to the drama of the Yosemite National Park in the USA, Charlie Waite has captured a wide range of stunning scenes.

Customer Reviews
A passion defined!
When reading this book, you very quickly get infected by Charlie's passion for photography. And you soon realise why you take photographs and he makes images - I've never had the urge to stand up a ladder for 4 days waiting for the right light to appear! Some of his descriptions of landscapes make you feel like you should have some Elgar playing in the background to do them justice.
Anyone with an interest in landscape photography should read this book - for how Charlie's mind works as much as the quality of his images.
Some nice photos...shame about the repro.
Some very good stuff here, marred by shoddy repro. His work - although, in my view a little over rated - deserves better than this.
Great Stories Behind the Image - Shame About the Print Quality
50 stories behind 50 of Charlies favorite images. To be absolutely honest, if you've been to a Charlie Waite presentation you'll have already heard some of these.
Charlie is a really lovely, lovely person and when he speaks or writes it fills the soul with enthusiasm to go and create great photographs.
This is a really enjoyable book, however the print quality is quite abysmal and doesn't do the images justice.
Also, if I'm being totally honest, some of Charlie's images are looking a little long in the tooth these days.
Come on Charlie, its time to do something new.............
