Best Kenya guidebook5
If you're getting a guide, I recommend this, it has much more useful information than the other two guides I have, plus useful maps and wildlife photos. Fab!

Ample information but lacks photos4
This is my first purchase of Rough Guide and I'm already a big fan. Unlike other guidebooks, Rough Guide gives ample information on everything you need to know to organize your trip, be it recommendations on sights, hotels, restaurant, tour ooperators, and even supermarkets. It starts off with 20 Kenyan highlights you can't miss and then detailed description of each region of Kenya. All information is useful. It also takes you to less touristy places and give stright forward opnions on those big touristy wild life reserves. Overall, I'm very happy with this guide book. The only thing they need to improve is to put more colorful visual aids. For now, there're not that many photos, and all of them is in black and white. So if you like lots of photos, Eyewitness is a better choice.

Not bad3
The book is good for background info and general orientation, but a bit dated on hotels, restaurants and bars.

For Nairobi, the info on the central district is pretty good but it doesn't really do the suburbs any justice at all.
