Rabbits are the third most popular pets in the UK. After cats and dogs, they are being chosen by more families as their household pet and by more single people as an animal for company. This fantastic book is a must-read for any rabbit fanatic. Written by top journalist and long-time rabbit owner, Ingrid Tarrant, and full of contributions from rabbit-loving celebrities such as Paul O'Grady and Toyah Willcox, it is the ultimate guide to caring for a rabbit. It covers choosing a pet, preparing for its arrival and routine care such as grooming, food and water, cage-cleaning, health checks and vaccinations. This clear, no-nonsense book dispels the many myths surrounding rabbits and their care and is ideal for every rabbit owner and lover.

Customer Reviews

The Rabbit Whisperer4
a good over all book about keeping rabbits as pets, whether a house or garden bunny. This book didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know about having a rabbit as a pet but a good all rounder to have. I would say a basic book for those starting out, however you may need to do some further reading if you want more detail. It is clear that rabbits play a big part of ingrid Tarrants life and it is lovely to read points of view made by a real bunny lover. She touches on all aspects of keeping a bunny, from bonding with your new bun to grief after death. I really liked the fact that throughout the book there are points from celeb friends of Ingrid Tarrant and their stories of the rabbits in their lives. I nice touch. The only bad point I would make is the lack of pictures/photos, especially when talking about different breeds of rabbits and illnesses. As this may be for some the first rabbit book they read, it would be helpful to have photos throughout the book.

A great book4
A very good interesting book. Easy to read and ideal for people who are looking into getting a pet rabbit or already have one and want to know more. If you know alot about rabbits it doesn't really tell you a lot more but a very good read anyway.

Not so great2
I read this book in a single sitting, and was disappointed.

Apart from a few factual errors, I found the comments from "celebrities" to be useless and in some cases unpleasant. I didn't feel any rabbit-love in the words, nor did the book encourage me. As someone who works in a rabbit rescue and owns rabbits, I can easily say that there are much better rabbit care books out there.
