Amazon.co.uk Review
Age 0-3

This charming little board book, ideal for enquiring little minds and inquisitive little fingers, tells the story of dappy Daisy Duck as she wanders the farmyard looking for a Beastie. Little does Daisy know that the Beastie isn't quite as scary as she is led to believe...

Lovely, washed illustrations combine with easy-to-follow text in this charming and popular story for tiny book lovers.--Susan Harrison

Amazon.co.uk Review

The Beastie wasn't with the chickens...it wasn't with the geese...it wasn't in the barn...then there was a strange noise from the shed...

In Jane Simmon's Daisy and the Beastie, grandpa dozes off just as he finishes telling Daisy the duckling her favourite story, but sadly the story doesn't end well -- the Beastie is still nowhere to be seen. So Daisy decides to leave grandpa snoring happily while she goes off through the barnyard in search of the mysterious creature.

This charming, calming and utterly delightful picture book is beautifully illustrated with washed colour that is sprinkled with a genuine feel for the countryside. The simple story, easy for toddlers to follow and learn, has a rhythmic quality that holds the attention as the little duckling embarks on her journey into the unknown.

Perfect for sharing, and an ideal way to banish those bedtime blues, Daisy and the Beastie is filled with suspense but ultimately conjures up dreamy images of animal life that children and parents will love. (Age 3-5 years) --Susan Harrison

Another adventure with Daisy Duck!5
My niece loves Daisy Duck. I could review these books with words like colourful and fun, but this would not do them justice.
The best review is the reaction of my niece to each new Daisy Duck book that I buy her. She sits enthralled, pointing at all the animals and making quacking noises each time she sees Daisy. The books are fun, eductional and best of all, keep young minds entertained for hours.

Beautiful, Though Not The Best Daisy Book4
I love the artwork in Daisy Duck books:the washed out, full-page illustrations, grand sweeps of colour and wonderful feel for the countryside.

The stories are simple and the text sparse, but these are PICTURE books par excellence and so they should be: ideal for toddlers who can't cope with much detail, and yet easy on the eye of the parents who would appreciate their dreamy beauty.

If I had one criticism of this particular story is that my 2.5 year old failed to understand that "the beastie" and the kittens were the same thing, despite my repeated explanations.
