Review
The Ready to Paint series are a really useful addition for artist wishing to practice painting techniques without worrying about the drawing first. Each book carries several drawings ready for tracing and one this step is done the artist can follow Arnolds' easy to understand instructions to complete a beautiful artwork. Arnold gives an overview of all the materials needed for each project including the colours he uses. He includes several useful tips to help the artist that may be overlooked. The five projects included in the book use a variety of different techniques that once practised will be useful for future artworks. They are very easy to follow as Arnold clearly explains and illustrates each step. Each one focusses on a particular element of watercolour painting so having completed the book the student will have a god grounding in useful watercolour techniques. A super book for any artist interested in painting watercolour landscapes.-JeannieZelos.com Arnold Lowrey has a bold and direct style of painting and a feeling for light and colour. He uses fresh transparent watercolour washes, occasionally adding opaque colour for lighter passages. He shows readers how he develops his subjects by up to 49-step demonstrations. Arnold Is Up There With The Best-A Real 5 Star*****5
Having being painting myself for a few years now,as far as I know this is the first book that gives you a head start to help you make your mark. Arnold has pulled out all the stops by giving you a few A4 tracings so you don't have to find the perspective yourself. All you need do is trace out and reach for the brushes. The tracings can be used time and again.

This book is a real winner for first time art students,as perspective is one of the hardest things to lay out for the beginner as I found out myself when I first started.

I thought I had won the lottery, when I met Arnold and spent a day with him in my home town. A nicer guy you could ever wish to meet, and so helpful. He really goes out of his way to show you how to paint, taking away all fear you may have in achieving what you want to do.

A five star book from a five star teacher. ( Excellent ).
