Product Description

It is no longer a secret that Copenhagen is the perfect weekend destination, with its beguiling blend of super-cool shops, fabulous restaurants and world class museums all conveniently compressed within a pretty, pedestrian-friendly heart. In recent years, visitors have also begun to discover an alternative Copenhagen, away from the royal and historic riches of its 1,000-year-old centre. Previously down at heel parts of the city like Vesterbro and Norrebro have emerged as groovy hotspots where cutting edge fashion, food and design flourishes. So, while many are lured to Copenhagen by its rich 20th century design legacy, they are as likely to leave having sampled the best that modern Scandinavia has to offer.

Can't please all the people all the time3
I made the switch to Time Out guides a few years ago having found their approach much more insightful than other guides, particularly good for city breaks, they are almost like having a local friend make personal recommendations.
Unfortunately from time to time the personal taste of the main contributors can be at odds with my own, this is the case of this edition of the Copenhagen guide.
The food sections could do with an overhaul to cover a wider range of cuisines.
The section on Christiania is a bit weak serving more to scare you off than help you explore (a suggested walking tour would be handy).
My trip to Copenhagen was great despite the failings of the guidebook, I think this guide is not far off it just needs some more contributors to mix things up a little, I would suggest buying another book to help you fill in the gaps or just strike out on your own.

An excellent guide.5
As a big fan of Time Out guides this latest purchase didn't disappoint. With a history to the city, places of interest and places to eat and stay and things to do all set out in an easy to follow format as well as a couple of maps at the back of the book I would highly recommend this guide.
