About the Author
Carol Deacon is an experienced cake decorator and demonstrator who began her career in 1992 working with Jan Asher. In 1993, she was the winner of an icing contest sponsored by a leading food magazine and was later appointe cake consultant to an international chain store. She is the author of the highly successful Quick and Easy Novelty Cakes, No-Time Party Cakes, and Party Cakes for Children also published by New Holland. Carol also writes regularly for various food magazines including Cake Craft and Decoration and demonstrates regularly on television. She lives in Flitwick Bedfordshire.

Simple, but Stunning Cakes!
This book is a must for anyone who is interested in making novelty cakes. The instructions are very well written and the pictures excellent. I have made most of the cakes in this book, most in between 2 and 4 hours(decorating time), they always look like the picture in the book - and believe me, I'm no expert. There's a cake for every age and occassion. A complete novice could easily get excellent results.

So simple yet stunning results
I made the castle cake on the front cover for my two year olds birthday party and it was a huge success. I have always bought cakes in the past for my girl's birthday party's, but am now a covert, a definate must for anyone wanting, but not daring to do it alone!!!

Brilliant Book
Lots of easy but interesting cakes. I have made and eaten 15 of the 30 cakes and found them to be very tasty. The recipes are fool proof and the pictures are wonderful.
