Synopsis
An epic poem explores the world of Dubliner Ace de Horner, who is going blind, but whose vanity convinces him that his eyesight is actually improving.
Customer Reviews
witty and wise
Forget the synopsis- this is a very clever, well written book of verse that explores attitudes to violence, sex, drink, friendship and the changes of age. Very funny, wonderfully irreverent and at times verging on the blasphemous.
A random choice that came up trumps
There can be few books of poetry that I have picked at random that I have not enjoyed more. "Poetry my Arse" contains some amusing poems that lighten the whole wet Dublin-like experience. The imagery conjured though sometimes stark is softened by the watery edges of the authors native city, and perhaps the small drinking houses described still exist.
