CLIP YOUR BIRDS WINGS Grrrrrr2
I thought this was ok for a person thinking about owning a parrot, just as an introduction but it keeps on about clipping your birds wings in order to let your bird know 'who's boss!'

the rest of the info is about my views so please ignore if you wish...
My parrot hates it when I'm upset with him, he holds his beak in shame
we find our own ways of knowing how far to go I don't need to butcher his wings for that!
sorry for the dramatics but that's the way I feel about inhibiting a birds flight
My bird flies that's why he has wings
you only have to read up about the negative health aspects of wing clipping and then there's the psychological effects.
I rescued a very young pigeon with a broken wing.. nowhere was prepared to offer help apart from euthenizing, he died at 2yrs old of a heart attack because his chest muscles and heart was so weak from the lack of flight to exercise and strenghthen them. He enjoyed his 2 years though and we spent many nights together whilst he preened my fingers snd toes, he loved me to sing to him.
I have most parrot books available and 'parrots for dummies' outshines them all and is also a great reference book
