Synopsis
Describes the author's own fly-tying system, the Footprint Fly system. The pattern aims to be easy to tie and attractive to trout under a range of conditions. Threadgold explains the thinking behind his design in the book, based on the piscean eye and how a trout views the world.
Customer Reviews
Improving dry fly patterns - with logic
I had not realised how much Dry Fly patterns could be improved until I read this book. The science and approach involved in proving its relevance is very sound, proved by myself when comparing my old patterns to the "improved" versions - my catch rate went up. Brown Trout known to be picky previously became less wary of my presentations and scoffed whatever I put in front of them.
You are never too old to learn something new, I recommend this volume to anyone who ties or fishes with flies, it will open your eyes!
