About the Author
Lindy Smith started making cakes for her children and realised she had a talent when people started asking her to design cakes for them. Encouraged by her achievements, she entered The British Sugarcraft Guild international exhibition in 1997 and won three gold medals. Lindy demonstrates her sugarcraft skills around the country and enjoys teaching at the classes she runs as she loves to inspire others to have a go. Lindy Smith lives in Wendover, Nr Aylesbury, and regularly contributes to Cakes and Sugarcraft magazine.

Lovely cakes, great tips.
Lindy's cakes are just gorgeous. They are not too difficult and she gives you plenty of tips to help you along. Beginner cake decorators might find geting a similar quality of finish difficult, and I haven't found the cakes particularly quick to make although compared to people such as Debbie Brown, they are a lot simpler. A recommended book for someone who enjoys decorating cakes and wants to try something a bit different.
Very adaptable and easy to follow instructions
This is a fantastic book with very east to follow instructions for a variety of cakes ranging from a beautiful rabbit to a monster.
The cakes will be enjoyed by adults and children alike. A must buy for all avid cake decorators.
Gorgeous!
As with all Lindy's books, I am in love with this one. You will leasrn easy yet effective modelling and effect techniques. I particularly liked the use of gel to make animal eyes (like cat and rabbit)shine, this make these designs look very realistic.In this book she experiments with the use of colors through shading techniques and also uses the lustre edible colours in some designs (like Princess Penny). Highly recommended
