Product Description

Originally designed as an interceptor, Hawker's mighty Typhoon made a name for itself in the ground attack role. The follow-on Tempest V destroyed 638 V1s and 20 Me 262s in the final year of the war. This volume includes many scale drawings, archival photographs and interviews with leading Aces.

Customer Reviews

96 Pages aren't enough5
Another fine work by Osprey but as ususally 96 pages aren't enough to explain all, and some info is dated by more recent discoveries.
Also osprey fails to put authors not fully dedicate to the subject in writing such books, althought they do a very good job, the series could gain more if written by a somewhat more expert in the subject and by some more 200 pages, a nice book if you buy the entire collection, as they complement each others.

A good resource4
This book is a gold mine of information for the person interested in these two WW2 warplanes.

On the one hand, there is are a number of excerpts from the pilot's actual reports about the nature of combat as well as an history of the development and deployment of these aircraft. On the other hand the book offers a wealth of black and white photographs and colour plates of the various colour schemes to aid modellers and artists alike.

Typhoon/Tempest Aces of World War 25
An excellent article of Allied pilots who flew the various variants of the Typhoon/Tempests fighter bombers. This book is dedicated to pilots who were able to attain status of Ace while flying Typhoons and Tempests.
