Customer Reviews
A definitive guide
Spending a month in the Yucatan would never have been so fascinating if it weren't for using this very comprehensive book. I'm sure we got to places that we never would have found without it. More importantly was Nick Rider really captured the atmosphere of the place - the affection he feels for Yucatan really shows in his excellent writing. I loved the place and will definitely go again to discover new places using this terrific guide.
The best guide to Southern Mexico available
Nick Rider's excellent book covers all the standard fare - from Cancun to Playa del Carmen, but is aimed at the intelligent reader who really wants to immerse his or herself in the history, arhitecture, archaeology and culture of one of the most fascinating areas in the Americas.
You'll find far more comprehensive information on all this and out of the way places not yet corrupted by big business tourism; all written with wit, love and panache.
My only quibble is that the guide looks rather duller than it is - the cover is dreadful.
