Arranged in alphabetical order within their family groups, the majority are illustrated by specially commissioned colour photographs. There is also a brief history of the rose along with practical advice and guidance on its cultivation. With over 800 colour photographs and line-drawings, this book is an important source of reference for anyone interested in roses and a superb tribute to this fascinating and much-loved plant. Each entry describes: flower colour, type and season; growth habit and foliage; particular merits or uses; the name of breeder; date of introduction.

About the Author
Amanda Beales's life has always contained roses. She first fell for their charms as a child, while growing up on her father's, now the family-run, nursery. After spending a few years away to train in other fields of horticulture and to study at Burlingham Horticultural College in Norfolk, she returned to the nursery and has been a part of it ever since. She now concentrates on breeding new varieties while also overseeing the marketing and PR areas of the business. This is her fourth book on the subject of roses.
