QX
Sharply repackaged by Creation Books,...an intimate, emotional record of an actual prodigy, wholly unconcerned with the banalities of the 'normal'.

The great surrealist's modestly titled tome gives a brilliant insight into the life and mind of the 20th Century's greatest artist.

Customer Reviews

A fascinating insite into the life of Dali5
This is the second volume of Dali's autobiographical series. It spans the period from 1952 to 1963 and markedly shows his transition into surrealism, both in terms of the paintings he describes and also in his writing style. It is certainly more florid than The Secret Life of Salvador Dali. It is almost fanatically descriptive and allows the reader to really become involved in the daily routine and patterns that shaped his career and life. It is interesting also to read from his memoirs the development of his expressive impulse brought on by his wife Gala who we also get to know in this volume. In summary I would say that this book is invaluable for the Dali enthusiast and a great educational resource for all others. It also features a poignant and revelatory introductory essay by J G Ballard.
