Synopsis
A collection of 24 fantastic handknits to make bedtime fun for girls and boys aged 2 to 5, this is the eagerly awaited sequel to Lucinda's first book, "Designs for Kids - Handknits and Things" (ISBN 1-904485-30-8, June 2005). No more tears at bedtime! These new designs from knitwear designer Lucinda Guy are guaranteed to delight children and are ideal for knitters of all levels. It is illustrated with Francois Hall's beautiful illustrations that are so stunning you'll want to frame them! Comforting dressing downs, nightcaps, cosy cardigans, cuddly blankets and funky toys are all part of the bedtime scene. No child will be able to resist taking the daffy Bella Bun rabbit or the cute Lula Doll to bed. His or her imagination will be excited by the thought of the man in the moon hottie, birds turning blankets into magic carpets, and owls flying off with stripy socks! Lucinda's beautifully selected colour palette creates a great matching wardrobe of heirloom knits. Give yourself and your child or grandchild a treat by making anything and everything from this book!

The collection features Rowan's wonderfully gentle and beautiful wool and cashmere yarn, Cashsoft DK & Cashsoft Baby DK - which are amazingly soft, warm and comforting, and their natural cotton 4-ply. The sumptuous muted colours all add to the charm of the collection - and the yarns are all machine washable. All of the handknits come complete with a sizing chart, a requirements list and full pattern instructions & charts - plus piecing instructions for the toys. It also includes: how-to tips; abbreviations; yarn information; and, yarn addresses and acknowledgements.

Customer Reviews

BEST KNITTING BOOK IN YEARS!!!5
Having bought many pattern books by other authors recently, I was looking for something "different", but easy to knit. Well, here it is! THE BEST KNITTING BOOK I HAVE BOUGHT FOR AGES!! I have knitted several items within the first week of receiving the book, and am absolutely delighted with it. I was so impressed, that I have now bought several other books by Lucinda (even the one to teach kids to knit!). I would highly recommend the book to anyone, and would like to thank Lucinda for producing such a wonderful book with refreshingly different patterns. I look forward to further publications by Lucinda!!!

Brilliant as always from Lucinda Guy. Products are all delightful, well designed, easy to follow instructions (not the most experienced knitter!). Many compliments about finished products from other envious parents.Pure joy.
