During the rather bleak drive from the airport to wherever
you're staying you could be forgiven for thinking that Ibiza looks just
like any other Mediterranean resort, and perhaps for wondering what all the
fuss is about.That's because Ibiza, whose beauty and spirit of decadence
has attracted holidaymakers for decades, keeps its many charms slightly
hidden.

It hardly needs to be said that the White Isle's club scene is fantastic,
and you can have a good night out on the main strips of Ibiza Town or San
Antonio, but it's in the back streets, or on seemingly deserted country
roads, that many of the island's finest restaurants and bars lurk.

Likewise, initial impressions of Formentera, Ibiza's more peaceful little
brother, may suggest a lack of places to go and things to do. But again,
scratch below the surface and there is much to enjoy.
