More tales from the Bebop!!!!
If you're suffering withdrawl symptoms from Cowboy Bebop then this is the perfect pick-me-up. CB only runs for 26 episodes and that's it, well there is also a movie but god knows when it will arrive over here. This book is a faithful representation of the crew of the Bebop that you know from the series. Spike, Fave, Jet, Ed and Ein are all there, in adventures that could've been on the show. These are all new stories however, and not just rehases of the show. An excellent read, just a pity that there will be no more shows!
The Real Folk Blues
As opposed to being a printed version of the animated series this graphic novel follows various mis-adventures of the four characters, Spike, Jet Black, Faye and Ed. The first episode sees all the central characters take the stage as they attempt to track down a measly bounty each, which strangely coincide.
The second follows Spike's attempts to track down a transexual bounty, who happens to be in prison already.
Faye has an adventure to herself in the third episode as she is invited, along with all the other female bounty hunters in the universe to try and capture the elusive Nowhere Man.
Finally in the last section Jet stars in 'Black Diamond' as the whole crew suffer a role reversal as a bounty is put on their heads.
What I liked about this Manga was how much like the animated series it was. It has kept true to the original spirit portrayed so well on screen. The dialogue is succinct and snappy, as is the artwork. This book made for very enjoyable reading and has nicely filled the void left by its animated forefather, I would definately recommend this to anyone who has enjoyed the series, and also to anyone who enjoys quality manga.
