About the Author
Richard Sorger designs for his own label SorgerKirchoff, with Benjamin Kirchoff, selling in London and Paris. He is a senior lecturer in fashion at Middlesex University in the UK where he tutors final year students.
Jenny Udale is currently a freelance textile/womanswear designer having a particular interest in ethical and organic issues. Jenny has taught fashion/textiles to numerous educational audiences at both undergraduate and post-graduate level. She is currently a lecturer at the University of Middlesex and Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication.

Real information not just eye candy
There are loads of fashion design books out there but most seem to be a collection of pictures and drawings with a bit of caption text - basically eye candy for browsing. By contrast this is a really well structured book with a good commentary on key aspects of fashion design, including research, fabrics and techniques, construction etc with high quality illustrations and photos too. Covers commercial and practical aspects of building a collection. Great for students and also those who want to learn something useful and not just look at nice pictures.
