Customer Reviews
Voliminal, Unbearable
I'm a huge slipknot fan, own all albums including the live Prelude 9.0 album and this is by far the biggest waste of money ever!
it starts off you watching a fly buzz around the screen and then you go into the actual "documentary".
All it is is a "The Ring" style video where random clips are compiled together, mixed with some dirt poor live recording, and short "interviews" with the band, occaisonally you get to watch a bug on the pavement or something of similar irrelevance.
I watched it the first time when stoned and although i felt it was trippy i didnt think much of it, then i watched it sober and thought it was absolute rubbish.
The second disk provides you with the music videos for Duality, Vermilion, Vermilion pt2, Before i forget and The Nameless, a little bit of a conselation but its nothing worth buying at all.
If this is the last thing Slipknot do i'll be hugely disappointed as they need to redeem themselves now
Inside the Nine? Please
When I first heard about a documentary about Slipknot I was excited, so I pre-ordered it as soon as possible.
As soon as it arrived I stuck in Disc 1 and sat down to enjoy (or so I thought). Disc 1 was pointless, most of it was just a random collection of things not relating to the band what so ever (pigeons in the park etc.), the rest was behind the scenes stuff (the guys hanging out backstage, on the tour bus) and then there was a few clips from life performances (but the sound quality is terrible and just sounds like noise).
When the credits rolled up feeling very disappointed I put in disc 2 which helped me lift from my disappointment of watching the 1st disc a little. Disc 2 contains music videos (Duality, Vermilion, Vermilion Pt.2, Before I Forget and The Nameless), Life Performances and Interviews with "all 9" of the band members (I say all nine but only 8 of them actually gave a real interview), Craig's (aka 133)interview lasted about 10 seconds with him being blurred standing behind his house saying nothing. The only voice you hear is the interviewers asking him "How many people are buried in your back yard?". Though I was disapointed by this I was pleased with the other 8 members interviews.
Overall I was unhappy with the DVD, calling it a documentary is a joke. If you think interviews with 8 of the 9 members, a few live songs and there Vol.3 music videos are worth that much. Then I suggest you buy it. If it's not worth it than avoid like the plague.
Terrible but...
This DVD has had high hopes from both me and a lot of other people I know. I got this DVD for Xmas, and have only just got round to viewing it the other day. When I inserted disc 1 it took me ages to figure out that I have to press a button on my DVD remote to skip the flies and then the cube of people. And when I select to play (Sid) 0's story I get a load of different video about other members of the band, and only just scraping the surface of Sid himself. The same went for the other members. It was a disappointment! I am a huge Slipknot fan, and even though I may have a sick mind, doesn't mean I wish to watch a bug scuttle across the pavement. And all of the stupid effects that give it that The Grudge/The Ring type feel to it DOES NOT WORK!
The first DVD was appalling! BUT the second one manages to scrape what was left of my approval. It was videos from Duality, Vermilion, Vermilion pt2, Before i forget and The Nameless. And they were good, but any true Slipknot fan would have these on their PC anyway.
The band have been quiet recently and if this is their last attempt to make something big...then they have truly failed!
