It 'blue' me away!
Just like myself it is obvious that baroness don't worry alot about the names of the records. With names such as First, Second, Red and Blue it basically is what it says it is. Unlike the previous Red Album these set of songs seem more laid back and well put together. You would of thought that their grungy sound would lose it's appeal if subdued but it doesn't. The obvious Baroness Punch still lays beneath the well written riffs and lyrics.
I was supprised by tracks such as 'steel that sleeps the eye' which shows baroness have a side that can pull of a full emotional ballad. This is not what i exepcted from them but i want more of it.

Don't feel blue, It Great
I have been a fan of Baroness for around 2 years after somehow stumbling into the Red album. My favourite qualities of the band are their unusual and original sound, making them far more interesting to listen to than other current Metal bands. The most amazing thing about the new album is they have found a new sound without losing what made them different. The Blue record is quite a contrast to the Red album but comes very highly recommend. Surely one of the best metal albums of the years. If you like these I also recommend Gojira and Mastodon.
