A Great Handbook for Beginners and Professionals
This is a really useful book for anyone studying as a Nail Technician and concentrates solely on artificial nails - apparently the first UK/European textbook dedicated to this subject alone: it is a great step-by-step guide for beginners.
It covers all you will need to know, from anatomy and physiology of skin and the nail, essential chemistry and preparation; the three nail systems; application, maintenance and sculpture as well as basic and advanced nail art with plenty of illustrations and photographs.
The book is set out in easy to follow chapters, with introductions and summaries highlighing key learning objectives and tip boxes and finishes with knowledge reviews to keep you on the learning curve.
This was the first book I purchased on this subject and I have found it really interesting and easy to follow - I didn't realise how much there was to learn and the way this book has been set out has certainly helped a great deal - I am surprising myself all the time with how much I have taken in as I work my way through it!
If you are, like me, just setting out to train up as a Nail Tech, this is going to be the best book to help you on your way both during study as well as being a great reference book to refer back to once qualified.
Best Education Book
I have recently trained as a Nail Technician and found this book totally invaluable.
It gave detailed instructions on Manicure and Pedicures and artifical nail enhancements. The thing that made this book stand out from others I have read was that the pictures were in colour and close up. This sounds really trivial but when you are trying to study nail conditions and following detailed instructions about applying liquid to the nails the pictures are so clear and easy to see.
Another aspect of the book which was very handy is that it gives ideas of alternative manicures such as a mini manicure, which could be used if setting up in business.
This book covers every aspect of being a nail technician including health and safety and anatomy etc. I can not express how much this book helped me in my studies and it will last as good reference point for years to come. I would recommend any Nail Technician to purchase this book.
the complete nail technician
A good reference book for nail technicians. Tells you everything you need to know about getting into the business, disorders and diseases of the nail, and step by step of how to extend nails with your chosen overlay, wether it be gel, acrylic, silk or fibreglass.
