Customer Reviews

A must-have book for Price fans5
The Midnight Marquee book Vincent Price, that focuses on 42 Price movies, has less info on those 42 films in it than The Complete Films of Vincent Price, which has to cover all 100 of his films. It has an excellent, if abbreviated biography (only 50 pages) synopses of all films, and critiques, and comments from actors and production people with whom Price worked with over the years. TONS of photos. This is, quite simply, a must have book.

STILL the best book on Vincent Price5
Fans of Vincent Price have much to rejoice over in The Complete Films of Vincent Price. It's hard to believe that for the first time a book provides not only COMPLETE coverage of each of his feature films, but also a wonderful 50+ page biography of the man we loved to have scare us. In each of the feature film summaries, author Lucy Chase Williams not only gives us complete cast and credit listings, but also charming ancedotes provided by fellow cast members. This distinguished list includes Charlton Heston, Angela Lansbury, Jane Russell, Robert Mitchum, Gregory Peck, and many, many others.

But what really makes this book a joy for all Vincent fans is the biography. Almost everyone only thinks of Vincent Price as "that horror film actor", but he was so much more than that. Williams warmly reveals Price as the well-known, well-schooled, down-to-earth human being his fans knew him to be. We see the art lover, the fine cook, the author, the "special guest star" on HUNDREDS of television series, and... the practical joker who knew how to enjoy life and have fun.

Many books on Vincent Price have appeared over the years since the publication of Lucy Chase Williams' book - including a less-than-satisfying "bio" by Vincent's own daughter. But THE COMPLETE FILMS OF VINCENT PRICE still remains the best and definitive by far.

The Complete Films of Vincent Price is a wonderful book. More appropriately, it is The COMPLETE Vincent Price. The multi-faceted gentleman everyone should get to know.

BOO ! It's as much fun to scare as to be scared5
At nearly 300 pages with photographs on most, this book has it all. The introduction by Vincent Price comes from extracts of an unpublshed memoir written around 1959 the basis for his lectures throughout the 70's and 80's. The closing line " BOO! its as much fun to scare as to be scared" is just one quote of many in this book.

The book includes over 50 pages of biography followed by 200 + pages devoted to 100 Price films.

All 100 films include credits, cast and about the film starting in 1938 and ending in 1995 with Arabian Knight.

This was a great find and I havent found anything out there that comes close to this.

This book does not include tv work, radio or stage so if this is of interest to you then this book would disappoint.
