The book explores the wider and fascinating side of one of the British film industry's greatest success stories, showing once and for all that Hammer was not just a purveyor of cheap horror pictures.In fact, they made films in a number of different genres such as war thrillers, gritty dramas, comedies and colourful swashbuckling adventures. Some of these were among their best films; 1959 is a case in point which included such classics as "Never Take Sweets from a Stranger", "Hell is a City" and "Yesterday's Enemy", the latter of which earned Hammer BAFTA nominations for best picture, best actor and best supporting actor. Not Just Another Hammer Book
If you're a fan of the golden age of Hammer films then this book should be right up your street.

I have numerous books and magazines dedicated to the history of Hammer.They range from the good through the mediocre to the downright awful.
Thankfuly anything from Wayne Kinsey can be relied upon to be the very best of the bunch.
He's succeeded again in managing to bring something new to the discussion. This time it's a coffee table book with some of the most stunning images I've seen committed to print.

It's a pleasure to browse through so many fine quality photographs from Hammers heyday and Wayne should be commended in ensuring they reach a wider audience instead of hiding away in the BFI vaults.

Masterpiece
The book is a wonderfull hommage to Hammer films and the author made a really great job. Most of the stills were never seen before. A pleasure for the eyes, but there are also many backgrounds informations about actors, films and production. A bible for any Hammer fan....and there are still many all over the world ! Thousand thanks to the author Mr. Wayne Kinsey !
