silent... but not...
ok, well, what to say. If you have a hamster that seems to run at 100 mph, then this wheel is NOT silent. It is, however, a lot quieter than her other wheel. It is useful, as it comes with its own stand, but can also be attached to a wire cage, as it says, and this is really simple to do. The wheel turns easily, and my hamster took to it straight away. All in all, if you have a hamster that runs at normal speeds and has a squeaky, and therefore, annoying, wheel, it is a good buy, and I guess I should just be proud I have a hamster active enough to make a silent wheel squeak.

Best wheel I've tried
As previously said in a different review, the wheel is weighted, and so it takes the hamster longer to stop running. But it is blissfully quiet.

Please note that this wheel is also a little larger than most hamster wheels, being 6.5 inches diameter, which is excellent. Most hamster wheels are a little too small, meaning that the hamster's back is not straight whilst running, which is bad for the hamster's bones and back. This is the right size for my 4 month old syrian hamster, with room to grow, but if you have a bigger pet, consider getting the next size up.

However, I found a tip on the internet the day before I received mine, to put a small amount of vegetable oil on the attachments of your normal wheel, which should stop it squeaking as much (but does not cure rattling), and it works! So I would try this on your existing wheel before buying.

I will be keeping my new silent spinner though, because of the great size and because it is so quiet. Please note, to attach to the cage, pull the stand off and push the yellow rectangle on the back of the wheel through the bars, then turn the rectangle to secure the wheel (the packaging doesnt contain instructions).
