Product Description

'One Size Fits All' knee support for knee ligament and cartilage injuries. The wraparound neoprene design has supportive steel springs to provide good support. How does it work? The McDavid Adjustable Patella Knee Support improves knee stability due to the reinforcement provided by the supportive steel springs that strengthen the brace on either side of the knee joint; and the supporting buttress around the kneecap. The wraparound design makes it easy to put on and take off. The neoprene provides soothing heat and compression which relieves knee pain and knee swelling. The combination of stability, compression and warmth make this knee race equally suitable for knee ligament and cartilage injuries. When can I use it? - Ideal for improving knee stability following medial or lateral knee ligament injuries. - Provides stability, support and reassurance following meniscal (cartilage) knee surgery. Which size do I need? Fits left or right knee. One size fits most.

Manufacturer's Description
Winning and losing is all about decisions, often ones you've made for your athletes before a scoreboard ever lights up. The difference is in the training; you know it. And we know it, too.
We're McDavid. And this is our collection of precision sports medicine machinery for 2004. You won't find anything like it in the industry, because we don't believe in me-too products or one-size-fits-all solutions.
Ever since our first product, the lateral knee brace, came into play in 1969, we recognized the reality that you live on a daily basis. Namely, that no two athletes have the same needs as you help them push their bodies to the limits of performance. Likewise, no two sports assault your athletes with the same set of dynamic forces.
Our focus is on sport specific and need-specific solutions that help your athletes prevail - whether it's against the yardstick, the stopwatch or the scoreboard.
Ours is a company based on a practiced research and development machine. We listen to the athletes. We study cutting edge technologies and we test our solutions rigorously.
From protection to prevention and even rehabilitation, our goal is to be a key contributor to your bench strength.

    saved my Knee5
I was getting a very painful knee after refereeing games of Rugby. This has cured that - still need to go to the doctor some time soon but this strap is a great help. Very adjustable and comfortable to wear.

Exercise your options and your knees.5
This is a good support for exercising in, but not for all day use; the integral stays on the outside of the leg rub a sore spot if it's left on all day; for all day use I find the tubular neoprene type better. If you're considering buying one of these, my advice is to see a sports physiotherapist, and/or buy a book called "Treat your own Knees" by Jim Johnson. It's a short book, tells you everything you need to know to improve "strength, flexibility, responsiveness and endurance" and no bull. It's also referenced if you want to check the original papers he quotes in the text. In fact do all you can to get this book, it contains vital information that may mean you no longer need to consider surgery, or will aid your recovery from surgery.
The combination of the physical support given by the support and the informational support of the book gave me the confidence to start exercising (gently) a painful knee when advised to rest it. Resting it made it worse, exercising it following the regime in the book, and wearing a knee support, has improved it quite substantially.

    A good strong support 5
I brought this support as during training for a half marathon my knee started to hurt, knowing if I went to the doctor my knee would not be running ready in time I opted for a support to get me through.

This support held my knee very well, it's a good strong support and it held in place for the whole marathon, it did not slip and once on I did not feel any need for adjustment and it felt like it was doing its job and holding my knee in place with a good amount of pressure!

This is not a long term solution for problems like mine and I have since been to the doctor to get it fixed properly, but the support did do the job I brought if for and I was very happy with the results.
